A lady called Mary, now living in Canada, sent me this photo of soldiers in India.  Michael Corken is in the photo but Mary does not know which soldier it is. This is what Mary says: "I have in my possession - through a deceased relative - a couple of photos and some letters from a young soldier when he was stationed in India 1937-39 named Michael Corkin. Michael wrote in his last letter that he was looking forward to returning home to Parkhall that year and attending his sister Ann's wedding and finding a nice wife and settling down. Then WWII broke out and he was sent to Burma and died there. He was aged 26. He is in the photo but I don't know which one he is, I would think there were more of these lads from Clydebank/Duntocher area and hope some relatives there would recognize them.

Additional information: Son of Hugh and Bridget Corken, of Parkhall, Dalmuir, Dunbartonshire
